About Us
At The Black Rabbit, our story is deeply rooted in the rich traditions and heritage of Eastern Europe. Originating from Romania and Germany, we carry forward a legacy of craftsmanship, resilience, and a profound connection to the land. Our name, "Mahala," reflects the tight-knit communities and enduring spirit that define our lineage.
From the rolling hills of Romania to the dense forests of Germany, we draw inspiration from the dark woods that have shaped our ancestors' way of life. These landscapes, steeped in mystery and beauty, inspire everything we create—blending timeless traditions with modern sensibilities.
Our family is dedicated to honoring our heritage through thoughtful design, artisanal techniques, and a commitment to quality. Whether through our work, our community, or our shared meals, the Mahala Family story is one of connection, authenticity, and a deep appreciation for the past as we look toward the future.
Welcome to our family.
Our Mission
The Black Rabbit thrives on the talent and dedication of an exceptional team of chefs, cooks, servers, designers, artists, farmers, foragers, and hunters. Inspired by ideas that push beyond conventional standards, our menus and dinner concepts are crafted to elevate the culinary creativity of the Piedmont Triad area. We adhere to strict food philosophies, showcasing local and seasonal vegetables, along with sustainably sourced meats, fish, and seafood.

Our mission is two-fold: to spotlight the unique creative talents of our region through a fusion of food, art, and music, and to raise awareness and funds for important local charities with each dinner concept. The Black Rabbit brings together creative and talented individuals to organize and host unique dinner events.
